Senior project management consultant for several ongoing projects in Gas & Oil since 2006. Responsible for scheduling optimization based in resource-critical-path and the use of risk analysis with simulation with three-point estimates for improving the use of shared resources. Congress speaker, training facilitator and author with several papers and articles published, with participation in many national and international seminars including PMI Global 2007 – México, PMI Global 2008 – Australia, PMI Global 2008 – Brazil and PMI College of Scheduling 5th Annual Meeting in Chicago. Previous experiences in project management dates from 1998 to 2006 in the areas of IT Software Development, Infra-Structure and Telecommunications.

Responsible for the opening of the consulting services and product sales and the expansion of the regular training classes offered by X25. The company now holds several partnerships with other consulting services in Brazil, United States and Russia and it has expanded its base of clients in over 30% in the first semester of the new organization.

X25 has given training to over 3,000 IT and Project Management professionals and now offers a line of products that include PM software, mind mapping software and some utility software. The consulting services are available for ITIL, COBIT, Project Management and more recently Risk Management, with the organization of a seminar regarding the subject and partnerships with both PMI – Chapter DF and the PMI – Risk Sig.

Other positions in the company prior to the partnership and CIO position (Jan, 2006), includes: Project Management Coordination for the PMI R.E.P. Certification Course and others .

 
Project Manager/ Senior Consultant,
Cast Informatica S.A., Brasilia-Brazil, 2003-2005

Project Manager at a Federal Government Agency in Brazil, responsible for the construction and deployment of a decision support system using Business Objects and Oracle. The team consists of 15 people, including technicians from this agency. One of the major deliverables is not the product itself, but a full set of activities to support technology transfer to the client and the customization of a data warehouse methodology that integrates concepts from CMM, PMBOK and RUP.

Senior Consultant at Castmeta’s head office, performing activities to complement the new working model for the company that is dividing its operations in a Software Factory, a Project Factory and a Project Office. Topics and activities include development of product workflows and cycle times, identification of areas requiring process improvement, identification of product quality issues and corrective actions, identification of communication/collaboration deficiencies, identification of necessity of standard processes, methodologies and structures, as well as identifying the tools supporting such methodologies.  http://www.cast.com.br

 
Independent Consultant,
Software 602, Inc (US)- Brazil – Mar/2003 – Dec/2003

Software 602 has a set of software that is distributed around the world through e-commerce. They recently start distributing translated software in Italy and Germany and they needed assistance to start distribution in Brazil.  As an independent consultant my roles included: channel building, software translation and the launch of a Portuguese e-commerce solution. For the software translation I managed a small team including a software developer, a technical reviser and a Portuguese translator. For the e-commerce solution, I managed contracts with a hosting and development company and for channel building I contacted several companies in Brazil and set meetings until closing a deal for a national distribution of the software. Other activities involved communication issues between Software 602 headquarters in the US, Software 602 development center in the Czech Republic and distributed teams in Brazil. Work results:  Web site launch in 3 months, software translation in 5 months and over 20,000 software downloads in the first two quarters. Software 602 Inc is renewing its contract with their distributor in Brazil for this year. http://www.software602.com.br

 
Project Manager. Information Technology Manager,
Digital Group, Paraguay, Apr/2001-Feb/2003

Managed multiple projects including Facilities, Information Systems, Infrastructure Development, Data Center Operations and Software Releases. Responsibilities included: vendor & consultant interface, project start-up workshops, identification of deliverables, durations, dependencies and critical paths, WBS, scheduling, resource allocation, cross-functional coordination/communication and driving to critical dates. Reported to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis for its strategic decision process.

Digital Group was formed by:  Digital Productions (TV productions of shows and commercials); Digital Entertainment (investments in events, shopping malls, disco clubs, video stores and others); Digital Development (software development and call centers); Digital Learning (long-distance learning). As the Information Technology Manager, I participated in the integration of the administrative and financial areas of these four companies and also in individual projects of each company.

Independent Consultant,
Guarani.Net – Paraguay, 2002-2004

Technical and Business consultant for the creation of a new company in Paraguay that works with VoIP services. Activities included setting meetings with potential investors, contracting hardware vendors and setting up the infrastructure of the company.  Major activities ended in January of 2003, when the company started its operations but I am still contacted by this company on a casual basis to help the expansion of their business to Brazil.

 
Project Manager/ Product Manager/ Channel Manager,
Choose Technologies (Brazil) – 1998-2001

Channel Manager in my first year at this company, responsible for the creation of a network of sales representatives in Brazil and the opening of two new offices. Reached USD 500,000 in indirect sales, representing over 30% of the total sales in 1998.

Product Manager, responsible for commercial and technical aspects regarding the development of a new business unit, including vendor’s strategic planning (an American company) and distribution aspects related to the Brazilian Market.

Project Manager/SCM Manager.  While performing activities related to project management for internal systems and also for the company’s web site, I acted as Software Configuration Manager while supporting several large projects developed in association with Unisys (US)  and Broner (UK). These projects comprised large teams (over 50 people) and an enormous variety of applications and operating systems.  Besides helping 4 different Project Managers I developed all the software configuration management procedures that were later used by the team of consultants of Choose Technologies when selling CMM consultant services all across Brazil.

Taking Risks out of the Paper- 2006, Mundo PM Magazine.   Article about the use of Risk Management processes during the planning and execution of projects, based in the experience in real projects. This article was then presented during two PMI Seminars, one held in Brasilia (October, 2006) and the other held in Espirito Santo (August, 2006).

Risk Management: Basics - 2006, presented during the "First Risk Management Seminar of Distrito Federal - Brazil".   A two hour workshop for introducing Risk Management to Project Managers.

Portfolio Management, Critical Chain and Success Driven Project Management- 2006, presented during the "VII International Seminar of PMI - São Paulo".  Paper presented with the works of Russell Archibald and Vladimir Liberzon, related to the Russian Methodology - Success Driven Project Management.

Portfolio Task Identification Study Focus Group- San Francisco, Jan.2007.   Active participation as a volunteer for gathering information and discussing it during an international panel in support to research activities of Mr. John Roecker, for the Project Management Institute.

Risk Management Practice Standard- PMI volunteer group, 2006/2007  Active participation as a volunteer during the preparation of the "Rsik Management Practice Standard" to be published by the Project Management Institute.

Database Project- Planned, designed, created, and implemented a database scheme and user interface for  the University of Brasilia International Relationship Department. This project was funded by a Brazilian Government Agency for Research and Development (CNPq), 1992.        

Centerville High School Chess Team- First chess player in 8 years to win a distinguished position in a chess tournament for Centerville High School. 2nd Place, 2nd board, Ohio State High School Games, 1988.

President (student's club)– Unioeste Computer Association (University of the State of  the West of Parana, Brazil).

Decision Support Project- Planed, designed, created, and implemented a decision support system and user interface for  Itaipu Hydrolectric Power Plant. This project was created with the Unioeste/Itaipu Scholarship program and only the top 10% of the students were called to perform professional activities at the Information Technology Department of Itaipu, Brazil, the largest Hydrolectric Power Plant in the world (1997).
